TRANEXAMIC ACID

Tranexamic acid has recently become increasingly common in skincare products because of its effectiveness especially in treating melasma and skin hyperpigmentation induced by sun exposure. It’s benefit was first reported from an accidental observation after oral administration. In the particular case, the intensity of melasma was significantly reduced within a period of two to three weeks.

Research shows that it is also effective topically applied and works by inhibiting tyrosinase enzyme that is responsible for producing the pigment melanin. Tranexamic acid reduces the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight and helps to fade discoloration, brighten and improve tone. It also helps to calm skin, reduce inflammation and restore barrier function.

ALPHA LIPOIC ACID

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is a natural substance found in the human body and also in some foods. Some research indicates that it is a potent and versatile antioxidant about 400 times stronger than vitamins E and C combined. It is called “the universal antioxidant” because it is both fat- and water-soluble. This means that ALA is easily absorbed through the lipid layers of the skin and works as a free-radical fighter. When applied topically, ALA exerts anti-inflammatory effects which helps to reduce skin redness and blotchiness resulting in evened skin tone. ALA helps to shrink pore size and impart a healthy radiance to the skin.

ALA is capable of causing a burning or stinging sensation on skin ** Discontinue use of product if irritation occurs**

CO ENZYME Q10 ANDIDEBENONE

CoQ10 is a coenzyme that hasvery important roles in the body. It produces biological energy inside the cells (energizes) and helps neutralize harmful free radicals, which are one of the causes of aging.Levels of Co Q10 in the body declines with age therefore it is somewhat regarded as one of the most accurate biomarkers of aging, since its decline correlates so well with the aging process.

In most people over thirty, levels of CoQ10 in the skin are below optimum, resulting in lesser ability to produce collagen, elastin and other important skin molecules. Also Co Q10 depleted skin may be more prone to the damage by free radicals.

Idebenone is an analog of Co enzyme Q10 with similar actions but especially valuable in protecting cells from the free radical damage resulting from reduced blood flow (A major factor in skin aging). It helps to provide skin with energy that it uses to defend itself against daily stress and environmental aggressors, diminishes the damaging effects of sun exposure and improves crow’s feet.

SYN-AKE

This is a new award winning ingredient. It’s mode of action is based on active the compound found in the venom of temple viper. It is a synthetic tri-peptide which acts in a manner similar to that of Waglerin1 (snake venom). Syn-ake is particularly effective for smoothening mimic lines & wrinkles. Mimic wrinkles and lines are expression lines such as laugh lines on the corners of the mouth, frown lines on the forehead. These lines tend to become permanent as we age.

Syn-ake reduces the frequency of contractions of facial muscles resulting in relaxation and smoothening of skin. This action is reversible but with continued use those mimic wrinkles seem to disappear permanently.

DMAE

Recently it has also been discovered that DMAE has beneficial effect in improving the appearance of facial sag. It has been demonstrated that DMAE causes some degree of skin firming and tightening.  In some studies, it was also discovered that DMAE reduced the accumulation of lipofuscin deposits inside cells.

Lipofuscin is an un-degradable waste material that accumulates in the intracellular cells especially of older people. It is described as an age pigment because its content increases with age. While DMAE may not have much effect on existing sag, however when applied topically over time it helps to slow down the progression of facial sag. Therefore the earlier DMAE treatment is started the more beneficial it is in helping with facial sag.

Gotu Kola Extract (Asiaticosides and Asiatic Acid)

Asiaticosides and Asiatic Acid aremajor constituents of Gotu Kola which help to renew skin collagen in quantity and quality. Glycation occurs in collagen fibers which results in the formation of cross-links that leave the skin stiffer. Glycosylated collagen is believed to be a factor in the appearance of aged skin. Glycation can also affect elastin making it clumped together, a condition which presents more frequently in aged skin. Asiatic acid protects skin against the effects of glycation, and improves elasticity and resilience.

One of the major contributing factors to skin aging is decreased blood flow to the skin. Asiaticosides help toimprove blood circulation in the skin which restores tissue firmness and skin elasticity. It also helps to increase keratinization which is the process of building more skin in areas of thinning caused by injury or infection thereby improving skin appearance and texture.

Pomegranate Fruit Extract

Pomegranate has been grown and harvested since ancient times. It is loaded with vitamin c and other powerful antioxidants which have been proven to be beneficial to skin. Latest studies show that pomegranate extract work well in stimulating skin’s collagen production, rebuilding its outer layers, inhibiting free radicals and assisting to counter daily effects of sun exposure.

It has excellent moisturizing properties and helps the skin to retain moisture and maintain hydration. It also contains powerful components, which are responsible for brightening skin tone.

Vitamin C

One of the recent advances in skin care is the introduction of vitamin C. L- Ascorbic acid and other derivatives such as Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP) and Ascorbyl tetraiso- palmitate (BVOSC) have been clinically proven to stimulate synthesis of collagen in human skin.Collagen is a major structural protein of skin which decreases with age).

Vitamin C is a major factor for enzymes responsible for collagen synthesis hence it has been proven to be a great influence in relaying message to the body to increase its collagen synthesis. Increased synthesis improves skin tone, firmness and youthfulness.

Vitamin C isalso a powerful antioxidant which protects skin against damage from the sun. It also helps to reduce melanin content of hyper-pigmented skin such as age spots and melasma. This helps to even out skin tone.
